Ryan Szymanski showed no fear when he was getting ready to jump the 112-foot drop into "The Grotto" quarry in Vermont. Still, he probably wasn't prepared for what happened after the jump. He split open his knee, damaging his ligaments and tendons. Luckily, he is expected to make a full recovery.
Then, while this cliff jump didn't result in any injuries that we are aware of, it did come very close to being deadly. As one person made their jump into the lake, their friend started climbing down to jump. That's when part of the quarry wall gave way and collapsed into the water. No injuries were reported.
