Bizarre weather had some Peruvians bracing for the Apocolypse. To their credit, this bright "rainbow of fire" streaking across the sky does look pretty scary, though scientists quickly identified the strange sight as an optical phenomenon closely related to the rainbows we know and love.

Sometimes it's the small things in Mother Nature that wow us the most—like this viral live-streamed hatching of a Budgerigar parrot (or "Budgie") in China.

Though this massive web protects the millions of vulnerable spiders, for an arachnophobe it's a scene right out of a horror film! Shocking Moment Bear Is Freed From Storm Drain

It's definitely bear season, and we're seeing tons of videos online of the animals popping up all over the place. This tale takes the cake though. In Colorado Springs, a 3 to 4-year-old, 250-pound bear was seen taking shelter from the rain in a neighborhood storm drain. Colorado Parks and Wildlife's Southeast Region tweeted out the rescue and the efforts to not harm the bear but to scare it back into the forest. If it was ever handled again it would have to be euthanized. pic.twitter.com/necla8U4CN — CPW SE Region (@CPW_SE) July 26, 2018 An employee of @CSUtilities pop the sewer hole and the waiting began with @COParksWildlife officers standing by with nonlethal rubber slugs in a shotgun. pic.twitter.com/XGH68W8y6l — CPW SE Region (@CPW_SE) July 26, 2018 About 6 minutes after the manhole cover was removed, out came the bear, estimated to be 3 to 4 years old and about 250 lb. If it had been handled and tagged, that would have counted as a strike against the bear. Next time it was handled, it would have had to be euthanized. pic.twitter.com/Om1z7AkHKl — CPW SE Region (@CPW_SE) July 26, 2018 View Now
