The 2015 trend in university sorority recruitment seems to be videos featuring lovely ladies with beautiful clothing, hair and makeup having a great time all around the school. Unfortunately, at least for a certain University of Alabama sorority, there seems to be a lack of academic scenarios. There's more beauty and not enough brains. This has led the Alabama chapter of the Alpha Phi sorority to remove its popular viral video and social media pages after receiving criticism, accusing the recruitment video of "lacking diversity and objectifying women."

Budget Busting Sorority Recruitment Videos Show Sisterhood Through Bubbles And Laughter

College is heading back into session, but instead of packing textbooks and pencils, it looks like you'll need bubbles and yoga pants. Well, that's according to these high-budget, high-quality sorority recruitment videos. Maxim released a list of the top five 2016 recruitment videos from sororities at universities across the country — UCLA, Penn State, Texas A&M, USC, and Arizona State University. The one that grabbed our attention — Alpha Phi at Arizona State University. Clearly, this bunch of ladies is outdoorsy, because instead of showing extensive footage of studying on the campus, the girls are out hiking, paddle boarding, skateboarding, swimming, and riding in jeeps. This video is seriously like a major motion picture, and with Teen Vogue estimating its cost to be at $200,000 or more for just over three and a half minutes of recruitment, it has the price tag to match.
