Long story short: It was a crappy movie date. But you don't know that yet. Almost Cool's hilarious short walks you through Tommy's first date with Lauren. There are uncomfortable silences, unclaimed farts, and restroom visits that take a little too long. But, by golly, Tommy will get the last laugh. Wait for it...
We are our own worst critic. Ray Roberts created this short with a very special message. It's set against the backdrop of him learning how to ride a bicycle for the very first time, at 19 years old. Not knowing how to ride a bike always made him seem like somewhat of a loser. But, just like it's never too late to learn how to ride a bike, it's never too late to convince yourself you have value and have something to offer this world.
We've heard the old phrase "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," but maybe that should be "beauty is in the mind of the beholder" instead. "Dove® on YouTube is about promoting positive self-esteem and helping women feel good about their unique inner and outer beauty." That's what the "About" section states on Dove's YouTube channel, and that's what their "Real Beauty" ad campaigns aim to reflect, but their latest ad has stirred up some controversy. The ad features women who experienced an interesting placebo effect after wearing "Dove: Patches" for two weeks, being told that they contained a compound that would make them feel more beautiful. People are pointing out the irony, however, of a company using the idea of "real beauty" to sell their beauty products.
How do you feel about your hairdresser? If you're Sam King, you detest him or her. And he's got good reason, too! They never give him what he wants. Check out Sam's hilarious rant about why he despises hairdressers. One of our favorite reasons why he hates hairdressers is because if they don't understand his incomprehensible instructions, they tend to "full-time YOLO" and do their own thing. Can you relate to Sam's trials and tribulations in your quest to look fashionable?
It's official. We live in a digital world. Shutterstock explains how watching videos online is increasing at an outstanding rate. They created this "Show Me Something" video as a visual exploration of just how much online video-viewing has grown in the past few years. In January 2014 alone, 190 million Americans watched 75.6 billion videos online. Check out the video for more stats that will blow your mind. One thing's for sure. Television sets are increasingly playing second fiddle.
Dave, aka Boyinaband, took a moment to address his haters... via a catchy rap song. Apparently there are people who dislike Dave, and they say mean things. Not about his music, however, but about his looks. They attack him "ad hominem," rejecting what he has to say because they don't like his long hair or his lean figure. They tell him he looks like a girl, but he responds that his confidence alone makes him more masculine than the people who think he's too feminine.
This is a once in a lifetime kind of trip. Mike Loffler was able to travel to 20 countries on three different continents in 15 months. There is so much you can learn about other cultures, as well as yourself, on a trip like that. Luckily for us, he filmed the trip in glorious HD.
We can count on Mr. Forthright to dish out advice on everything from how to win the Super Bowl to how to avoid jury duty. In this edition, he shares his wealth of knowledge on raising kids who aren't complete jerks. Among the stellar tips? When your kid does something right, give him praise - but not a raise, otherwise "they'll suck you dry." Another gem? If your kid fails a test, you can "fail" to provide them with dinner. Check out more awesome tongue-in-cheek tips from the one-and-only Mr. Forthright.
Rob Scallon is a very talented musician who likes to mix things up and approach music in alternative ways... and it's always awesome. Check out his latest work, a cover of Pharrell's "Happy," but like you've never seen it before! It's a symphony of Vines, if you will.
Nico Calabria was born with one leg, but that hasn't stopped him from staying active. This documentary from Powerade shows Calabria through his years of athletics. Calabria will now play for the United States soccer team in June at the Amputee World Cup in Mexico. An adventurer and an athlete, Calabria shows that despite being different, you can succeed when you put your mind to it.
